Sarah Fisher

Sarah Fisher is a multi-instrumentalist, predominantly playing percussion and piano and freelance community musician. Sarah lives in Gateshead, North East England but is originally from Bedfordshire.

Sarah went to university of sunderland where she studied Community Music at Sage Gateshead. After graduating with a first class honours degree in 2015, Sarah began working in a variety of community settings across England delivering inclusive music sessions for all ages and abilities. In 2019, she graduated for York St John University with a Masters in Community Music. Sarah also has cerebral palsy and other movement disorders, this has meant that she has found alternative ways to lead and play music. As a keen researcher Sarah has researched inclusive music making benefits, and how to improve the lives of those with disabilities within the music sector. Sarah also performs regularly, and has recently had a touring show - twitch - which combined music, disability and humour in the hope of showing that it’s not a bad thing to have a disability and you can laugh about it. Sarah is excited to work with Evolve and spread more opportunities for inclusive music making to as many people as possible!
